Our world is unrecognizable these days. Work and life responsibilities consume our energy and time. Our digital devices devour us daily and solitude has taken on a whole new weight. One truth remains constant: there is nothing more healing for the spirit than getting outside and into the profound, natural wilderness with friends, family, or with just yourself.
While you may go on adventures every week or just once a year, the impact of being out in nature is undeniable. John Muir expresses this sentiment expertly:
“I am is losing precious days. I am degenerating into a machine for making money. I am learning nothing in this trivial world of men. I must break away and get to the mountains to learn the news.”

No matter your experience level or tenacity for adventure, this blog is here to help you “get to the mountains” (or literally wherever), and get that vital news your soul yearns for.
The Secret Spots is pretty much my love letter to being outside. I am very excited to share some my favorite places I have ventured to and to give you the tricks and tools on how to do it too.
I insist that all of my trips, vacations, camping, hiking, and glamping experiences be unique, and I prefer to be as off-the-grid as possible, ideally near a body of water. To me, swimming in the great outdoors makes any nature experience all the more special and enjoyable.
The best adventures I have had so far have been the ones that I discovered or sought-out through thorough research, careful planning, and often months of permit-allowed-patience. I have led adventures solo, in groups large and small, as well as with kids, pets, and family too!
My adventures are affordable, and my gear is well thought-out and customized per adventure.
I will continue to explore and find more Secret Spots around the world, and I will tell you all about them and how to enjoy the best food, cocktails, gear, and music for each one!
